Wicked Game - Rawand (Chris Isaak cover)

This is one of those songs that I have heard in so many different versions that I don’t know how the original sounds like anymore.

Without further ado:

When I thought about recording this, I wanted to have some dynamics. Naturally I thought about starting low in pitch and quite then going up and loud at the end. But then I thought maybe I should also drop the tuning of my guitar so that the difference gets even more drastic. Which I think I delivered on that.

I wanted the whole sound of the song to be very dramatic and wide. I put up so many different layers of reverb on the guitar and higher pitched copies of the guitar and shimmers. I’m happy how it turned out, it’s like the more u listen the more echos and tiny voices of the guitar you can hear.

As for the voice, I mostly did it in one take. I think i patched in the very last low part since coming down from the very high note, i missed the lower one haha. And some basic effects on it nothing much since the space is occupied by guitars.
